데이터 입력 구조화 정도에 따른 식이기록 애플리케이션 지속사용 (Supporting Sustainable Food Logging by Adjusting the Degree of Data Input Structure)
Despite of the recent development and attention in healthcare and sensory data, the automatic recording of food intake still remains a challenge. Therefore, self-logging is inevitable and still many dietary applications rely on self-logging from users. However, usability and data richness contradicts. The user may easily feel fatigue and stop logging, whereas food intake data should be described in as much detail to resemble the true intake in terms of menu and portion. Therefore, this study investigates the potential of supporting sustainable food logging by adjusting the degree of interface structure. We developed an android based, one-touch button research prototype, JKME Food Logger, where users can also log additional information by free-text. The 20 participants showed a relatively high data accumulation rate of 88.6% throughout the average 56.2 days of user testing. Moreover, we collected 2877 entries of free-text menu input. By analyzing the interviews and data logs, we identify the current difficulties users are facing, and suggest the degree of structuralization according to the data items.
